FAQ

Some questions and answers.

How can I test and compare different personal lubricants?

The best way is very simple. Just rub a small amount of lubricant between finger and thumb. If you can feel the roughness of your finger prints then the lube is probably mostly water and not worth buying. If it turns sticky after only a couple of minutes of rubbing, then you probably won’t enjoy using it. That stickiness may even lead to broken condoms. If it stays smooth until it dries out and does not get sticky, then choose the one that lasts a little longer than you do.

Who are Gelworks?

Gelworks have been developing and manufacturing class leading personal lubricants for more than 40 years.
The founder and owner has provided research, advice and data to World Health Organisation (WHO) consultants. As well as research data for UN personal lubricant conferences.

Where are Gelworks Wet Stuff personal lubricants manufactured?

All Gelworks products are manufactured in Australia to International medical device standards.

Silicone or water based?

Water based can be cheaper and is easy to wash off. It usually lubricates for a shorter time than silicone. How long it stays slippery is affected by a number of factors. Such as humidity, temperature and how long it is exposed to air. Excellent with oral sex and the first choice for many people.

Silicone is not affected by humidity and is usually better for those expecting more from their lube. Also far superior for external and anal use. Sex in the shower? You definitely want to use a silicone based lubricant.

Some silicone based products can also change their texture during use. Starting with wet and slippery then changing to smooth with more sensation. This is usually referred to as “bodyglide”. It mimics what happens naturally and feels absolutely wonderful, even when using a condom.

Premium has the bodyglide effect after perhaps 15-20 minutes of slippery.

Are we going to import more of the Gelworks Wet Stuff range?

YES! We are about to start testing “Aloe Vera”. Aloe Vera lube can be especially good for women who don’t find other lubricants comfortable. Excellent for sensitive skin. More in the future as we find out which products Thai people prefer.

Why would I choose Wet Stuff Gold rather than something cheaper like Strawberry?

Our “Gold” product has a low water content and is comparable to some silicone products for how long it stays slippery. Some other companies products have a very high percentage of water and stay slippery for only a few minutes. Wet Stuff Gold is unique in water based lubricants. No other companies currently have anything similar. Gold is very smooth. Noticeably smoother than our Strawberry product, which itself is smoother and more slippery than much of the competition.

I’ve seen some complaints from women about Wet Stuff Gold. Why is that?

Women usually have a diverse range of vaginal bacteria (microbiome). If they are lucky they will have only or largely “good” bacteria. For most women the percentage of “good” bacteria will cycle up and down depending on a number of factors. Women who have a large percentage of “bad” bacteria can be slightly irritated by Wet Stuff Gold due to the actions of those bacteria. These women are likely to have a better experience with something like our Wet Stuff Premium. There are a number of beneficial things that can increase the percentage of “good” bacteria, improve their experience and even general health. After doing that they could truly enjoy the silky smooth sensation of Wet Stuff Gold.
